Goldsaftbube It's difficult (near to impossible) to name a favorite song as the whole album is insanely good. With Dog Years, The Great Sabatini deliver a masterpiece in their own genre (is there a similar band? Please tell me!), every song a complete blast on it's own - yes, even Akela.
Doomed Dork
Doomed Dork thumbnail
Doomed Dork These dudes, man. They push the envelop with their sporadic songwriting. Sporadic in the sense that the riffs make you think; they seem weird, but maintain a head-bangable groove. Nothing like driving down some highway in the middle of the night with "Reach" blaring. If you ask for an honest interpretation of the human experience from your heavy music, The Great Sabatini are the place to start. Favorite track: Reach.
Craig M

Craig M painfully under appreciated band. one of the best things to come out of canada, or anywhere, so far this year. Favorite track: Munera.
GabrielML

GabrielML Trashy sludge from Mtl, Qc. Check out these oddly shaped compositions; peculiar, bayou-drowned, down-tuned chugs and psyched-out leads.Toal burst, no nuance Favorite track: Periwinkle War Hammer.

The Royal We 03:38
fingertips and souls, calloused over, shovel in the coal, keep it rolling, nothing to declare Speak to me in tongues, grind me down to a nub, demons in your head, the noise is growing, put them all to bed, let's get going, nothing to declare all you see is mine stretching out for miles these kingdoms came and went, dried up and died.

You are cordially invited. Despite your social standing, our guests will be delighted to see you at the banquet. Allow me to remind you... all charm and class considered, worms will always find you, presidents and ditch diggers. It's a long way down from ivory towers. You'll be in the ground, pushin' up flowers.

I dip my pen into your mortal wound, not one stone heart among you will remain unmoved. the hammer falls, after all. Silver tongues, sing of me, your bloated hyperbole, hoist your darlings, swooning junkyard pageantry. Heroes drop, to shallow graves, one and all, you can kiss my ass.

third times a charm. glory fades in harm`s way, last legs failing, hooves and horns at arms length. loss on loss on lesson learned, fortunes fall and tables turn, lesson learned. behold a broken body earned. broken body. cut down in his prime. clocked out, end of the line. broken man, turn on the crowd, broken man, sword in hand.

Ex con, you still live at your mom's, worship satan sing your heretic songs, corpse paint on a pale morning, overcast and your soul is grey, taking pictures in the woods is evil your idea of a perfect sunday, gonna find you a sick lil' lady, she's gonna make your bed like a grave, post an ad in the dirty back pages, gonna find you a grim lil' slave, blood thirsty get a ritual going, prowl yer neighbors by the light of the moon, jerking off at the mausoleum, morning star in the sky too soon.

about

The Great Sabatini Montréal, Québec

Regarding The Great Sabatini: Since forming in Montreal in late 2007, we've released four ep's and three full length albums, and logged seemingly endless tour dates around North America and Europe. Our music is an aggressive mixture of noise rock, doom, hardcore, and metal wrapped up in a burly sludge aesthetic. All four of us handle vocal duties. We play loud, and with conviction. ... more
